Tickfaw La and New Orleans La Weather Conditions
One thing about the
weather in SE Louisiana, if you do not like it now, just wait an
hour and it will change. We are located in an area where the cold
fronts collide with the warm fronts and low pressure systems coming
out of the Gulf Of Mexico. It is usually hot and muggy in the summer
so make sure you drink plenty of water. Stay hydrated at all times.
If you start to feel weak or dizzy or both it may be a heat stroke
coming on. In that case sit down and get the water out. Pour water
over your head and cool off.
The weather changes very rapidly here is Southeast Louisiana. We are close to or border the Gulf of Mexico and have many lakes and rivers and swamps is this area. In the summer the hot afternoon sun causes convention of the water and storm clouds can come up from almost nowhere. You may have those short afternoon showers for days at a time and then go a week with no rain. We do experience the storms coming out of the Gulf from time to time. Sometimes just tropical waves and other times full blown hurricanes. Our summer months are hot but Tickfaw park has plenty or shade and waterways to make the area a little cooler then the cities nearby.
Anytime of the year is a great
time to visit Tickfaw State Park in SE Louisiana.
